Training & Development
We provide all the training and development you need to be a successful member of our retail team.
Orientation
When you join the Country Road Retail team, you'll take part in a comprehensive induction, including teamwork and customer service skills, communications, relationship building, product knowledge, handling customer concerns, sales techniques, safety and more. This Orientation program takes you on the journey from day one to your 90 day review. We know that it is essential for all new starters in our business to be set up for success so you will be assigned a ‘buddy’ in addition to your Manager to ensure you get the right training within your first 90 days.
Country Road Service
We'll teach you the Country Road way of providing service excellence, from initiating customer rapport to closing the sale. You'll learn how to communicate effectively with your customers for the best results, and develop the attributes of a talented salesperson.
Performance Review
Formal performance reviews are conducted with your Manager. The aim of such reviews is to discuss your progress and aspirations so that a development plan can be formulated.

Retail Career Pathway
Regional Manager
The Regional Manager is accountable for maximising profitable sales within Country Road Retail stores. This is achieved through developing and implementing tactical plans, providing the leadership necessary to deliver outstanding customer service, excellence in people management and visual merchandise management, and the effective control of inventory, spaces and costs as they apply to our different trading formats.
Cluster Manager
The Cluster manager is accountable for maximising profitable sales and driving efficiencies across business operations within their group of stores; Country Road and Concession stores. This is achieved by leading and influencing their manager’s to drive performance across; customer service, excellence in people management, effective merchandising practices and control of costs.
Store Manager
The Store Manager is to drive sales and profit and ensure the achievement of all KPI’s as set by the company. This is achieved by providing inspirational leadership, training and developing team capability, strong people management, applying commercial acumen and a sound financial understanding to the business, effective control of costs, maintaining brand standards, driving a customer centric culture and adhering to all company behaviours, policies and procedures.
Concession Manager
The Concession Manager is to drive sales and profit ensuring the achievement of all KPI’s as set by the company, within their concession business. This is achieved by providing inspirational leadership, developing team capability, strong people management, relationship building skills, applying commercial acumen and a sound financial understanding to the business, effective control of costs, maintaining brand standards, driving a customer focused culture and adhering to all Country Road and Myer/David Jones behaviours, policies and procedures.
Stockroom Manager
The Stockroom Manager is to contribute to the profitability of the retail operation by receiving, handling and managing the inventory of merchandise in a timely and organised manner. Leading and developing the stockroom team to ensure effective stock control and movements meet store requirements.
Assistant Store Manager
The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Store/Cluster Manager in driving sales and profit and ensuring the achievement of all KPI’s. This is achieved by providing leadership, training and developing team members, strong people management, applying commercial acumen and a sound financial understanding to the business, effective control of costs, maintaining brand standards, driving a customer focused culture and adhering to all company behaviours, policies and procedures.
Department Manager
The Department Manager is to drive sales and profit ensuring the achievement of all KPI’s as set by the company. This is achieved by providing inspirational leadership, developing team capability, strong people management, applying commercial acumen and a sound financial understanding to the business, effective control of costs, maintaining brand standards, driving a customer focused culture.
Assistant Department Manager
The Assistant Department Manager is responsible for assisting the Department Manager in driving sales and profit and ensuring the achievement of all KPI’s. This is achieved by providing inspirational leadership, developing team capability, strong people management, applying commercial acumen, a financial understanding to the business, effective control of costs, maintaining brand standards and driving a customer focused culture.
Store Supervisor
The Store Supervisor is to assist the Store Management team in driving sales and profit and ensuring the achievement of all KPI’s. This is achieved by providing inspirational leadership, developing team capability, people management, applying commercial acumen and a financial understanding to the business, effective control of costs, maintaining brand standards, driving a customer centric culture and adhering to all company behaviours, policies and procedures. This role is responsible for the store in the absence of a Store/Assistant Manager.
Sales Consultant
Sales Consultants are responsible for maximising store/department sales and contributing to the achievement of relevant store KPIs and profitability. This is achieved through providing a superior customer service experience linked to Inspire, maintaining brand standards, driving Country Road card acquisitions, acting as brand ambassadors, embracing learning and development opportunities and adhering to all company behaviours, policies and procedures.
Stockroom Assistant
Stockroom Assistants are to support the store management team in achieving sales targets and KPI’s. This is achieved through efficient stock control, stock movement, stock security, online store fulfillment, ensuring efficient stock to floor process and adhering to all company behaviours, policies and procedures.
Visual Merchandiser Manager
The VM Manager is accountable for managing the effective and timely interpretation and implementation of all windows, promotions, and all store interiors being merchandised in line with the visual merchandising direction, brand standards and individual store profiles.

Visual Merchandisers are accountable for implementing seasonal and promotional in-store and windows merchandising in line with visual merchandising creative direction, brand standards and store profiles.
