In 1984, our founder Stephen Bennett created a legacy with the release of a quintessential Chambray Shirt.

Under his guidance, we've recreated that same garment using the original shirt from the archives.

Proudly made in Australia using Australian cotton, it's beautifully simple, meticulously crafted and perfected down to the final stitch.

The History

It's very exciting to be making the shirt again in Australia, in Australian cotton, using the old sewing labels we made at Cash's in Leongatha. That's been a big thrill to see it being made again.

To see this shirt today is pretty special for me. I remember as a young schoolgirl seeing all the staff in Country Road stores in these beautiful shirts. I think it's a very cool initiative to see this shirt coming back.
