This Mother’s Day, join us as we pay homage to the legacy of motherhood.

From educators to entertainers, budding gardeners to beekeepers—we invited a cast of six extraordinary women to reflect on what it means to be a Mum and the leading roles they play in the lives of many.

I trained as a dancer when I was much younger. I can always dance whenever things get tough or if I'm having a down day. There's no excuse not to dance. Milly James

I've always said that you should try and enjoy every moment as it comes because you never know what the next moment might bring. If you have children, enjoy every moment of them while they're young because they grow up so quickly it's unbelievable. Patricia Rosebrock

I teach drama to adults and children and I love doing it because I love the results that I see. I also enjoy gardening, cooking and looking after the many animals that seem to find their way into our house. Diana Hopwood

I live in a rural area surrounded by farms. I am a jack-of-all-trades kind of person, and master of none. In my garden, my challenge is to keep everything alive. So far, I have managed to keep my garden as good as can be without killing any plants. Shelley Xu

When I travel, I don’t do the normal route. Everybody goes to the Eiffel Tower, the Arno River, but I go two streets back and beyond. I'm not a tourist, I'm a traveller. Trish Honeyfield
